Members of BHML may receive discounted or free admission to Maine museums. The Library can give out one pass per day to each museum. Reservations are required and can be made online below or by calling the library at 207-633-3112.
How it works: RESERVE A PASS Passes are reserved by date, and may be reserved up to two months in advance. Each card holder may reserve one date per museum per week. Passes may be picked up three days prior to your visit. BHML has a limited quantity of passes per museum, per day; when possible, let us know if you won’t make your reservation so we can give the pass to another.
For information about hours and exhibitions, visit our partner websites linked above.
In addition to curating ongoing exhibits and collections of artifacts, photographs, and historical and genealogical documents, the society also presents a variety of programs of local interest throughout the year.

Children 5 years and up can get their own library card.
Children 12 years and under: we recommend a parent or guardian co-sign on the account in order to be responsible for the replacement/payment of lost or damaged items. However, we allow anyone to get a library card that can provide the information required on the Library’s registration form.
In accordance with our interpretation of Maine State Law, once a minor gets their own library account, our communications about that account are directed to the account holder.
