Welcome to the Children’s Room! We are open for browsing and thrilled to have you back in the library! Come in and see our rotating book displays, check out what’s on the new shelf, browse to your heart’s content and talk books with Jen, our new Children’s Coordinator. She is here to help you find what you are looking for and is always happy to make book recommendations.
News & Events
Spring Vacation Week Activities (April 19-23):
Tuesday, April 19: Library Scavenger Hunt – Some of our favorite characters have gotten lost in the library! Can you help? Stop in the library between 10 am and 3 pm to find the characters somewhere in the library. Write down the letter by each character and then unscramble the letters to decode a secret message. When you know the message, tell Jen in the kids’ room and get a prize!
Wednesday, April 20: Open Lego from 1-3 pm – Spend the afternoon building with our Legos! Optional building challenges will be available.
Thursday, April 21: Story Time and Craft at 10:30 am – Join Miss. Jen for an out-of-this-world story time & craft!
Friday, April 22: Game Afternoon from 1-3 pm – Meet your friends at the library to play a game! We will have a variety of games and card games available in the children’s room.
Saturday, April 23: Earth Day Festival on the library lawn from 10 am – 1 pm Celebrate and learn about our wonderful planet with local organizations! Story time at 10:30 am and a special Chewonki program at 11 am. Kid’s crafts & activities!
New Club Alert!
STEM Club for 5th and 6th Graders! Fridays from 3:00 – 4:00 pm in the Technology Room starting March 4, 2022. Students will explore their interests in STEM areas.
After School Clubs begin Session II on Wednesday, March 2.
