About the book

West to Panama by Robert C. Devine

Upon arriving in the British Virgin Islands, Captain Allen Daniels, first mate Paco Hoya, and the author are approached by an attractive divorcée and asked to assist her in moving her sailboat to San Diego, California. By taking on the delivery, little do they anticipate what lies ahead, beginning with an attempted hijacking, a stowaway, an equipment malfunction, and a sick shipmate. Arriving at the canal’s northern entrance, Colón, brings further intrigue and danger from a Mexican drug cartel, the divorcée’s former husband, and a local Panamanian family. All of this, surrounded by a budding romance, makes for an action-packed adventure that takes place on the high seas of the Caribbean and while transiting the Panama Canal.
