August 23, 2025 | 10:30 am – 11:30 am

Join us for an Author Talk with Boothbay Harbor native Jerry Farnham. Jerry will talk about his second novel Red in the Morning and his upcoming release, First Light, which are set in Boothbay Harbor.

About the Author:

Maine’s Blue-Collar author, Jerry Farnham, has written two novels, Red at Night and Red in the Morning. Jerry is a native of Boothbay Harbor, Maine and a US Navy veteran. Before serving his country, Jerry worked on his father’s lobster boat beginning at the young age of six. Now based in Gorham, Maine, he lives with his wife and two children. When not juggling a day job and his writing, Jerry enjoys archery, working on his Jeep, and reading works by fellow authors, including Maine’s own Tim Cotton.

About the books:

Red in the Morning (Book 2 of the Red at Night series)

Picking up mere seconds from where Red At Night left off, Maine blue-collar author Jerry Farnham takes us back into the lives of Jack Finn and Melissa Andrews. How will the new couple handle pregnancy? How will they handle living together? Will Jack leave the Finn family compound?

Agent Ross is missing, there is a mysterious man lurking around asking about Melissa, Russell is rushed to the hospital, and there is an empty seat at the Finn family breakfast table.

Grab your scotch and get ready for an intense boat ride!

First Light (Book 3 of the Red at Night series)

Have you wondered what would happen if the Waltons met the cast from 90210? First Light gives readers a look into the foundation of the families who make up the Red at Night series. As the first but, written third, book in the series, readers will learn the back story of the series’ main characters, Jack Finn and Melissa Andrews. Starting with how each of their parents met, their childhood experiences that will shape them as adults, to the comical happenstance that finally brings them together, readers will come to know and love each character as individuals and how their personalities add to the content and flavor of the story. This charming tale provides comical events, tragic events, and plants seeds for the remainder of the series; you won’t be able to put it down and you’ll want to read the rest of the series in rapid succession!

While this book is perfect for readers who are new to the series, this book will also provide those readers who have already read Red at Night and Red in the Morning with more character depth, as well as answer some questions about character development.

First Light is the perfect read–relaxing and engaging!

Tentative release date August 30th.
