Chunk, the life-sized inflatable humpback whale, returns to the peninsula for more opportunities to learn about and explore the inner workings of a humpback whale.
Note: This event takes place at Bigelow Laboratory (60 Bigelow Drive, East Boothbay).
Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library and the Boothbay Region Land Trust are teaming up with Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences for this larger-than-life event for all ages! Join us at Bigelow Lab for an afternoon of fun.
We had such a massive turnout when we hosted Within the Whale in February, we’ve decided to do it again! The return of Within the Whale will offer an opportunity for even more whale-enthusiasts to participate in the full tour experience.
Experience the thrill of stepping inside a life-size, inflatable humpback whale named “Chunk” and embark on an immersive educational journey like no other. You’ll be guided by award-winning wildlife educator Jessica Woodend from Within the Whale.
This free event is a fun experience for participants of all ages.
This program is brought to you by Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences, Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library, and the Boothbay Region Land Trust!
If you or your children would benefit from a sensory-friendly experience, please contact Bethany at tech@bbhlibrary.org.
