A Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library card gives you access to thousands of materials, physical and digital. Check out books, DVDs, magazines, audiobooks, download ebooks, perform online research, learn a language, and get discounted access to Maine museums.
Get a Library Card
To register for a library card, bring a photo ID to the Library.
Residents of Edgecomb, Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, and Southport may register for a free library card; seasonal property owners in those towns may also register for free.
Non-residents may purchase a membership to the Library that is valid for one year (membership includes access to ebooks and online resources). Cost for non-residents and summer visitors is $35.
Materials may be borrowed for 3 weeks, with the possibility of a 2 week renewal (if the item is not on hold for another patron).
Patrons with library cards in good standing may borrow up to 5 items per day, with a total of 20 items checked out on the account at any given time.
The Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library charges no late fees. We do accept “voluntary late fees” at the front desk.
Lost or Damaged Items
Borrowers are responsible for the full cost of lost or damaged Library materials. Please do not attempt to repair materials.

Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library & Minerva
BHML is part of the resource sharing consortium Minerva. Materials that are not available on our shelves may be requested and borrowed via the Minerva Network.
