
Library Cards
Year-round residents and seasonal property owners in Edgecomb, Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, and Southport may register for a free library card. To register for a library card, bring a photo ID to the Library, or fill out this online form.
Non-residents may purchase a membership to the Library that is valid for one year for $35.
Peninsula employees and students are eligible for Courtesy Cards. For more information, please read our Library Card Policy.
Children age 5 and up may register for library cards in their own name.
Borrowing Rules
Borrowing Materials
Materials may be borrowed for 3 weeks, with the possibility of a 2 week renewal (if the item is not on hold for another patron).
How Many
Patrons with library cards in good standing may borrow up to 50 books, 7 DVDs, and 7 audiobooks.
Late Fees
The Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library charges no late fees. We do accept “voluntary late fees” at the front desk.
Lost or Damaged Items
Borrowers are responsible for the full cost of lost or damaged Library materials. Please do not attempt to repair materials.

You can manage your Library account online. Log in to renew items and place requests.
Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library & Minerva
BHML is part of the resource sharing consortium Minerva. Materials that are not available on our shelves may be requested and borrowed via the Minerva Network.
Museum Passes
Use your library card to reserve a museum pass at participating Maine museums. Call the library at 207-633-3112 to make your reservation.
