Origin Story:The “I Love a Mystery” Book Club spun out of a Maine Humanities “Let’s Talk About it Series” called “Refreshing the Whodunnit” that BHML hosted in the winter of 2017. The group got it’s name from the monthly article that volunteer (and retired librarian) Shirley Sirois writes for the library column in the Boothbay Register.
Monday Night Book Club meets on the second Monday of every month to discuss various fiction and nonfiction works. Many of the title chosen by the group are bestsellers, popular fiction, and beloved classics.
In addition to curating ongoing exhibits and collections of artifacts, photographs, and historical and genealogical documents, the society also presents a variety of programs of local interest throughout the year.
